Relationships appointments

Counselling for intimate relationships, family relationships, friends, or other relationship dynamics. This may be adults and children.

Relationship counselling is different to one-to-one counselling, and you may decide you wish to have both.

Please be prepared to attend joint or individual sessions, or parts of sessions, as needed for the relationship, especially if children are also attending.

Initial Call

If you are interested in beginning relationships counselling with me, please book a free 30-minute initial call. This can be by phone, video call, or messaging and will give us the chance to see if I am the right therapist for you. If you can’t find a time that suits, let me know as I may be able to find a time that does.

Assessment

The assessment process for relationships (whether that is intimate relationships, parent-child, siblings, friends, or other relationships) will focus on the relationship as a whole, feelings in the relationship, and what has brought you to seek therapy.

Ongoing appointments

Please complete an assessment before booking ongoing appointments.

When you book ongoing appointments, you will have a choice to book the same day and time every week, or to book at different times to suit your schedule.

The earlier in advance you book, the more likely your preferred time will be available but if you can’t find an appointment time that works for you, please let me know as I may be able to find a time that works.

Check-in

When you could do with a check-in by email, messaging, or via phone or video call, this short appointment gives you the chance to speak to your therapist between sessions, if you are taking a break before the next session, or when you are ending sessions but not quite ready to stop entirely.

Regular sessions

A common choice for regular sessions e.g. once a week, same day, same time. When meeting every week, the hour gives a lot of people enough time to make progress.

Extended sessions

An hour is not always enough time. The extended session gives that extra room to settle in, ensure everyone feels heard, and to reflect on the process.

Longer sessions

When you are looking to work at a deeper level, or covering something big, longer sessions give you that chance. Please let me know if you are unable to find longer appointment times as I may be able to find a time that works for you.
